Google is now desperate for money

Take a look at the Google Finance, it was used to be ads free, but since last night, a big square box is occupied at the critical part of its webpage. Frankly speaking, with the ads, it makes the page looks ugly. And people already used to see the chart at that position, now the chart is move to the side, and the space is used for advertisement. Personally, I don't think this is a good move, as really irritating.

This is a snapshot of the original site (I get it by Canada Google Finance, which is still using the original layout).

This is the new layout with ads on the upper right corner.
If you look at individual stock. Below is the original screen:
Now, an ads block is above the discoussions:
There is no doubt that Google changes our life. GMail gives us 7000MB of free space, Google becomes most people primary source of search engine. Google finance combine the dow, nasdaq, and s&p so well that we can see their correlation clearly (this is somethign that Yahoo Finance should learn). The interactive chart and the way to adjusting timeline also pretty impressive.

To Google, maybe should design the ads, so that they look nicer ok? And I think I won't like to have my company information appears in the ads box when the stock are in red, so the ads display should be a function of the stock index. Then you can charge a higher price when Dow is up by 2%, as people feel good, and the ads will have a higher impact!

Google ads are ugly because they want to make it simple and easy to be blend into most of the website. But I do agree that the ads are really ugly.
